Roxana Mejia

Origin Story:

 Hailing from the rich cultural tapestry of Honduras, Roxana brings a unique perspective and deep passion for community development to the forefront as the Co-Founder and Managing Director of OptStrategies. Her journey in the nonprofit sector began with a deep-rooted sense of responsibility, witnessing the pressing needs in countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.

Experience:

Roxana, an accomplished US Navy veteran, transitioned into the civilian sector with a commitment to making a lasting impact. This dedication led her to contribute significantly to various roles within prominent nonprofit organizations. Her dynamic career path saw her serving in capacities ranging from specialist to director for organizations including Habitat for Humanity, veteran services such as The Mission Continues, and other environmental organizations.

 Roxana's deep understanding of nonprofit operations empowers her to navigate nonprofit intricacies with finesse. Her adept fiscal stewardship has seen her managing substantial budgets, while her leadership as a program director tripled funds, magnifying the community's impact on affordable housing. In the realm of Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), she orchestrated operations, budgets, and engagement strategies across 21 cities in the US.

Whether orchestrating impactful program strategies or spearheading community development initiatives, she demonstrates an unparalleled commitment to positive change in our communities in the US and abroad.
